The Arctis Nova 5X combines a compact USB-C dongle for cross-platform use with 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth 5.3.
Its 100+ game audio presets and on-headset ChatMix controls give players several ways to tailor game and media audio without relying on a single connection mode.
It suits gamers who want one headset to move among several listed platforms and value long stretches between charges.
The key compromise is that its appeal centers on wireless flexibility, presets, and a retractable microphone; buyers seeking active noise cancellation or a continuously swappable battery setup should weigh those priorities carefully.

Who Should Buy Arctis Nova 5X?
Good fit
Choose the Arctis Nova 5X if you want one wireless headset for a mix of Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, and mobile use.
The USB-C dongle and Bluetooth Quick-Switch make that multi-device role especially relevant when game audio and calls or media share your routine.
It is also a sensible fit if you value long battery intervals and want game-specific audio presets. The fast-charge option adds flexibility when you have a short break before playing again.
Consider it for a shared gaming and media setup where access to mute, volume, and ChatMix on the headset matters.
The retractable microphone also keeps the boom out of the way when you are not using it for chat or calls.
Who should skip it
Skip it if active noise cancellation is a must-have: that feature is not part of the Nova 5X’s stated design. Also look elsewhere if your priority is a hot-swappable battery setup for continuous play without charging breaks.
If you mainly need a wired headset or expect reliable microphone performance in windy outdoor settings, verify those needs before buying; the stated connection options are 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, and call support alone does not establish wind handling.
Arctis Nova 5X Review Analysis
Multi-platform setup
The USB-C dongle is the practical center of the Nova 5X: its listed platform range spans Xbox, PC, PlayStation, Switch, Meta Quest, phones, and tablets.
That is useful for a player with multiple systems, while the exact connection requirements of a particular device should still be checked before purchase.
Switching between game and mobile audio
The headset pairs 2.4GHz gaming with Bluetooth 5.3 and offers a button toggle for moving to a call or media.
This makes it easier to keep a mobile device in the routine, while notification beeps can flag incoming calls during play.
Battery and charging routine
A 60-hour battery rating is aimed at extended use between charges.
USB-C fast charging is useful when a full recharge is inconvenient, with 6 hours of use from a 15-minute charge; treat that as a stated charging figure rather than a guarantee for every use pattern.
Controls and microphone storage
Power, mute, volume, ChatMix, and Quick-Switch controls are placed on the headset, and the microphone retracts fully when not needed.
Together, those details support a setup with frequent audio adjustments and a cleaner way to stow the mic between chat sessions.
